‘Dazzle Cardiff’

While in Cardiff last week I stumbled across a street artwork installation comprised of a number of panels that spelled out some inspirational words in English and Welsh.

On closer inspection I realised that each of the panels was made of of many pictures

It turns out that the series of panels were constructed by a couple of local artists who worked with 60 Admiral staff members.  The Admiral staff took thousands of pictures of the city during March and April 2012 and these were then put together to form 14 panels

After a little investigative work I found out that out that the Welsh expressions mean:

diwylliant:  culture, gwobrwyo:  reward, datblygu:  development, gyflawni:  achieve, gweld:  see, dyfodol:  future

I loved the fact that the installation provided an eye catching display that had so many layers of meaning as you looked closer.
